Led by lead singer and songwriter Sarah Lewis, Jag Star's sound is more polished and radio ready than what you'd expect when you hear the word independent. Yet, this band is as "indie" as you can get, building their story and fanbase from the ground up over the past 7 years.

Lewis has won numerous songwriting awards, including the USA Songwriting Competition, John Lennon Songwriting Contest, London's We Are Listening, and Songwriter Universe. They have had a considerable amount of radio support, a rare achievement for an independent group. Sarah and her band, Just J on guitar, Brad on drums, and Drew on bass, have toured the U.S. and 15 other countries, including Afghanistan and Pakistan, where they played concerts for the U.S. troops. Their songs have been featured on numerous television shows (FOX, MTV, A & E, Lifetime, ABC Family, Travel Channel, NBC, Oxygen, Disney), and most recently for trailers on NBC and MTV. They've rocked the stage with Lifehouse, Dashboard Confessional, Simple Plan, Michelle Branch, Bowling For Soup and most recently Joan Jett, who called herself a fan.

"Lush production" and "solid performances" are how critics describe their new album, "The Best Impression of Sanity", now available on iTunes. This album recently debuted at #10 on the CMJ college radio Top 200 Ads Chart. Says one critic, "she can handle both the whispery moments and the lungs-of-steel moments with equal aplomb". Sarah is the new face of "wet 'n wild" skincare/cosmetics and appears in their national ad campaign, now seen in Cosmo, Jane, Seventeen, and Lucky. Their song "Missed Out" won the title of "Next Big Hit" in the recent podcast competition, which was based on listener reviews and voting. As a result, they were the iTunes featured artist for a week! Known for having songs that dare the listener to look for something greater than sex, money, and partying until one loses consciousness, Jag Star better take a deep breath because they're definitely going the distance....
