Sophie B. Hawkins has been an acclaimed, popular singer/songwriter for the past 15 years, writing and recording such major chart hits as “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover,” “As I Lay Me Down,” and “Right Beside You.” HoriPro is pleased to co-publish Hawkins’ key ‘90s hits in a joint venture with Emerald Forest Entertainment (headed by Marla McNally Phillips and Linda Blum Huntington).
This catalog includes all of Hawkins’ songs from her two, best-selling albums on Columbia Records: Tongues And Tails and Whaler. Both of these albums were certified gold. Many of these songs can also be found on her Columbia 2001 album, The Best Of Sophie B. Hawkins.
Hit chart activity: “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover” became a Top 5 pop hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1992. “As I Lay Me Down” reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995, and it was also a #1 Adult Contemporary hit, and it became one of the longest-running AC hits of the decade. “Right Beside You” and “Only Love” were also Billboard chart hit singles.
