For three decades now and still going strong, KISS has been regarded as one of the world’s most popular, flamboyant and influential rock bands. Led by rock icons Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley, the band has enjoyed tremendous success, including multi-platinum album sales, chart-topping radio hits, and of course, their spectacular arena & stadium live concert performances. Overall, KISS has been award 22 gold albums, and their worldwide sales now exceed 80 million units.
Originally hailing from New York City, the band first debuted in 1974 with their self-titled album, KISS, on Casablanca Records. The group went on to record such trail-blazing, studio albums as Hotter Than Hell, Dressed To Kill, Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, Love Gun, Dynasty, Unmasked, Lick It Up and Animalize, Crazy Nights and Hot In The Shade. In addition, the original, four band members also released solo albums which all went platinum. And of course, KISS is renowned for their thunderous live albums, Alive I and Alive II, plus their best-selling acoustic album, KISS Unplugged.
KISS leaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have written, jointly or separately, many classic rock anthems such as “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Shout It Out Loud” and “Lick It Up.” In addition, Simmons and Stanley have demonstrated their ability to write and perform a wide range of rock & pop styles, from the playful, romantic hits “Christine Sixteen,” “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and “Calling Dr. Love,” to the acoustic “Hard Luck Woman” and the power ballad “Forever.”
Over the years, the KISS legacy has continued to grow, and the band is steadily supported by its worldwide legion of fans known as the KISS Army. And with its music, the group has proven that with both its studio recordings and with its live concert recordings, KISS has created an extensive collection of stellar rock & pop hits for the ages.
